Ukrainian units continue to hold the northern part of Pokrovsk, Syrsky claims.
At a time when Russia has announced for days that it has captured the strategically important city of Pokrovsk, Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky claims that Pokrovsk has not been lost and that holding the city, as well as the neighboring Mirnograd, is stopping Russia's further advance.
"The battle continues. Ukrainian units continue to hold the northern part of Pokrovsk. In the area of Pokrovsk and Mirnograd, with active operations, we are blocking the enemy's attempts to concentrate offensive infantry groups and advance around these areas," Syrsky stated.
As he said, Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold specific areas. He added that commanders understand the importance of preserving the lives of personnel, which is why they discussed issues of necessary rotations and the organization of additional support with the commanders.
