The US will not allow the EU to participate in negotiations over Ukraine due to the recklessness of European politicians, argues Stephen Bryen, former staff director of the US Deputy Undersecretary of Defense. In an article on the Substack platform, Bryen claims that "Europeans (and NATO) will likely play no role in resolving the crisis, as Washington considers them spoilers and reckless politicians. The US is already taking steps to get rid of them, even in the exchange of confidential information." The article also notes that if Ukraine continues its rapid retreat and Russia prepares to impose its terms on the defeated regime, Washington will want to save what it can and improve the final outcome as much as possible.
