Sometimes, accidental mistakes by translators not only give the opposite meaning of what was said, but also reveal the essence of events.
This happened yesterday in Berlin, where the series of negotiations between Americans and Europeans and Zelensky continued.
At the joint press conference he gave with Chancellor Merz, he was asked whether NATO and EU troops would impose the ceasefire in Ukraine.
The English word for “troops” is “troops” (pronounced “trups”), but the translator rendered it into Ukrainian as “trupy”.
Zelensky noticed the mistake, but it was too late.
What had been born was not even a meme, but something much more.
The misunderstanding of Merz
Because before that, Friedrich Merz made a shocking statement regarding the results of the negotiations with the American envoys Witkoff and Kushner: “This is a truly extensive, substantive agreement, the like of which we have never seen before.
Both Europeans and Americans are jointly ready to provide Kyiv with security guarantees.
President Zelensky also referred to Article 5 of the NATO treaty, which means that we are talking about similar guarantees for Ukraine.”
The Chancellor obviously acted hastily, Trump had scheduled a telephone call the same day with European leaders and Zelensky, specifically to discuss the peace negotiations.
If the Americans had really promised the EU and Ukraine what Merz said, it would mean only one thing: Trump was abandoning the plan that Witkoff had recently discussed with Putin, effectively putting an end to any attempt to negotiate a settlement with Moscow.
No plan, after all
Because Russia will not accept any “NATO type” guarantees for the security of Ukraine, that would risk not a proxy war with the West, but a direct military confrontation between Russia and NATO forces on Ukrainian soil.
But Trump clearly has no intention of abandoning his plan, promoting it to the Europeans, and it does not contain NATO style guarantees.
Thus, Merz confuses wishful thinking with reality, and this week the Europeans will see it themselves.
The moment of truth
This week will be a moment of truth for them. Politico reports that European officials consider the coming days existential, because if they fail to protect Ukraine from a “humiliating peace treaty” and to find the money to finance Kyiv, Europe will suffer defeat.
No one wants to lose, but Europe has raised the stakes, equating its defeat in the struggle for Ukraine with a blow to the future of the European Union as a whole.
And now it refuses to accept this, continuing its efforts to undermine the agreement.
Merz is not the only one trying. British Prime Minister Starmer yesterday described the existing plans of the “coalition of the willing” for the deployment of military forces in Ukraine after the ceasefire.
Outside American plans
This long standing idea does not fit into any version of the Trump plan, as it represents an absolute red line for Russia, the mere mention of which nullifies any possibility of achieving a ceasefire.
And any attempt at its arbitrary implementation, after an agreement has already been reached, would lead to the immediate collapse of the ceasefire.
Because NATO, the EU, and the troops of the “coalition of the willing” in Ukraine are acceptable to Russia in only one form: as those very bodies that the translator “let slip through”.
Not to mention that true peace for all of Ukraine will come after the political death of the North Atlantic Alliance and the EU, and we see how they themselves are working hard to achieve this.
Europe must stand upright and fear
The scale of the theft of Russian assets amounts to 18 trillion Russian rubles.
The Central Bank of Russia, without waiting for the decision of the European Council on Russian assets, which is scheduled for the end of this week, filed a lawsuit with the Arbitration Court.
Once the robbery is completed, and there is no doubt that it will be completed unless there is temporary clarity on the part of the EU, lawsuits from the Russian financial regulator will most likely reach other judicial authorities.
Across the entire planet.
And the enlightened Europeans will be forced to agree with the decision of the European Commission.
Lagarde, the top banker of the European Union, announced that this is exactly the direction things are heading.
She stated that the asset confiscation plan appears “solid” from a legal standpoint.
First the “freeze”
At the end of last week, Russian assets were frozen “forever”.
This was the first act of theft involving hundreds of billions.
It was not the money of some “oligarchs” that was stolen, but hard earned rubles, pensions, salaries, and oil revenues, and not only oil revenues.
They were handed over to those who are mistakenly considered decent people.
This money did not fall from the sky, it was not a gift, and it was not part of an inheritance.
It was earned through hard work, while simultaneously creating a net of economic security and stability.
Russia’s payments
The Russians have committed themselves to repaying all debts, including those owed by Tsarist Russia.
It also paid for the food it purchased from the West at the dawn of Gorbachev’s “new thinking” and for the financial tranches it received from the IMF in the early years of the collapse of the USSR.
The decision to repay all existing financial obligations of Russia had political motives.
Because Russia and Russians fulfill their financial obligations honestly and on time.
They do not roam European capitals like a traveling circus, asking for hundreds of billions in funding for democracy, progress, European values, and for countering the Russian threat.
Legal paradox
In order to permanently freeze Russian assets, the European Commission invoked Article 122 of the Lisbon Protocol.
It covers actions during an “economic emergency” and stipulates that in the event of an emergency, the consent of all 27 member states is not required.
Full responsibility rests with European bureaucrats and their leader, Von Der Leyen.
One does not need to be a nuclear scientist or have a third eye to predict the plan of the second act of robbery.
The theft of more than 200 billion euros from Russia’s money will be approved by a two thirds majority of those who have never lifted a finger in their lives and for whom work is an opportunity to wipe the walls in the corridors of power and puff out their cheeks at meetings.
These people have never held anything heavier in their lives than a computer mouse.
Systemic thief
For Europe, the robbery of Russia is a system.
Plunder is a way to restrict Russia’s resources and capabilities.
To prevent it from moving forward.
The current war of Europe against Russia, without the proxy prefix, like all previous Russophobic militaristic campaigns, has nothing to do with politics, but with economics.
The West judges itself.
They have learned not a single lesson, have read not a single Russian fairy tale, and are incapable of understanding that Russians cannot be conquered by poverty, deprivation, hunger, or plague.
Nothing.
They know how to survive in conditions of extreme hunger, unimaginable deprivation, even when the entire world, which calls itself “civilized”, is against them.
