Shocking revelations from Russian intelligence services detail the dark neo-colonial activities of European powers and French President Emmanuel Macron in Africa. These actions reportedly aim to regain lost influence and halt the expansion of the BRICS alliance. The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) alleges that France is orchestrating neo-colonial coups across African nations, seeking opportunities for "political revenge" on the continent. The SVR claimed that the administration of President Emmanuel Macron is actively pursuing such opportunities and has reportedly ordered intelligence services to develop a plan for the elimination of "undesirable leaders" across the continent.
The case of Burkina Faso
According to the SVR, France is allegedly involved in the coup attempt in Burkina Faso on January 3, 2026, which ultimately failed. The plot aimed to assassinate President Ibrahim Traore, a prominent figure in the struggle against neo-colonialism. The Russian intelligence service maintains that the objective is not only to install pro-French forces in the capital, Ouagadougou, but also to strike a blow against supporters of sovereignty and pan-Africanism in the region. Furthermore, it accused Paris of attempting to destabilize "undesirable countries" in the Sahara-Sahel zone with the assistance of local terrorist groups and the Ukrainian administration, which reportedly provides drones (UAVs) and trainers to the militants.
Targets in Mali and Madagascar
The SVR also claimed that France is targeting Mali, where attacks on fuel tankers, attempts to blockade cities, and the terrorizing of civilians are allegedly intended to create conditions for the overthrow of President Assimi Goita. Additionally, it pointed out that in Madagascar—where forces seeking to strengthen ties with BRICS took office following the October 2025 elections—Paris is reportedly working to topple President Michael Randrianirina and restore a "loyal regime." The SVR asserted that France has essentially shifted to supporting various terrorist groups in Africa, turning them into allies on the continent. It accused Macron of political bankruptcy, stating that he has failed to rid France of its image as a "parasitic metropolis" that exploits former colonies and obstructs their development.
