Trump’s strategy of removing rival leaders shakes global order - Maduro seized, Khamenei killed, and Iran’s next leader under threat
The United States appears to enjoy the terror it spreads.

The global geopolitical chessboard no longer resembles a diplomatic arena, but a vast slaughterhouse where the United States, under the erratic and brutal guidance of Donald Trump, has turned “decapitation strikes” into normality.
The strategy of eliminating leaders, which once constituted the ultimate and morally condemnable measure, has now become the primary tool of American foreign policy, plunging the planet into a new era of terror and uncertainty.

The chronicle of blood: From Nicolás Maduro to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

Everything began with the unprecedented abduction of the President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and his wife, Cilia Flores, on 3 January 2026. Their transfer to the United States was the first warning shot.
However, the operation “Epic Rage” against Iran surpassed every precedent.
The assassination of the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was not merely a military success, it was the definitive abolition of every notion of national sovereignty.
“Decapitation” as a strategy seeks the paralysis of the enemy by striking the “brain”.
As political scientist Robert Pape argues, if you destroy the brain, the body dies.
However, this cynical approach ignores the long-term consequences, the “power vacuum” that generates chaos and the religious fanaticism of “martyrdom”.

Who is next?

Revelations by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) bring to the forefront an extremely dark version of the American strategy toward Iran.
According to the report, the American president Donald Trump is said to have told close associates that he would even support an operation to eliminate the new Supreme Leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, if he refuses to comply with the demands of Washington.
These demands include, as current and former American officials point out, the complete termination of Tehran’s nuclear program, an issue that for years has constituted the core of the confrontation between the United States and Iran.
The White House avoided officially commenting on the revelations. However Donald Trump gave a clear indication of his intentions in statements on Monday to the New York Post, emphasizing that he is “not pleased” with the choice of Mojtaba Khamenei for the leadership of Iran.
Indeed, in previous statements he had described the appointment of the Iranian leader as “unacceptable”, implying that Washington will not passively accept the new reality in Tehran.
If nothing else, Washington appears to enjoy the terror it spreads.
The next possible target? The North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
According to analysts such as Go Myong-hyun, Pyongyang is watching the developments in terror.
In a regime so personalistic, the threat of “decapitation” is not theoretical, but existential.
Targeted leaders now hide, disperse their forces and avoid every communication, turning their countries into “ghost states” under constant siege.

The “legacy” of Israel and the hypocrisy of the Democrats

The United States did not reinvent the wheel, but perfected it by learning from its close ally, Israel.
The book Rise and Kill First by Ronen Bergman reveals the scale of the horror, thousands of assassinations by the Mossad over decades.
Hypocrisy, of course, also abounds within the United States itself.
Donald Trump may be the executioner, but the legal framework was methodically laid by his predecessors.
Targeted killings skyrocketed under Barack Obama, who “baptized” murder as a “lawful use of lethal force”, bypassing Executive Order 12333 of Ronald Reagan which explicitly prohibited assassinations.

Tactical victory, strategic defeat

The question that remains unanswered and tormenting is: And then what?
When Donald Trump was asked with whom he would negotiate after the bombings, his answer was shocking: “Most of the people we had in mind are dead. soon we will not even know anyone”.
This admission, combined with the inability of Secretary of State Marco Rubio to present a reconstruction plan, confirms the tragic observation of David Ignatius: “decapitation” is now the American way of war. A victory of tactics over strategy.
The United States demolishes everything, kills everyone and then wonders why the world is burning.
Governance with drones and “smart” bombs may eliminate individuals, but it generates armies of avengers.
The world of 2026 is more dangerous than ever, and the “executioner” in the White House appears to have no plan for the next day.
