An unprecedented rift has erupted within the ranks of the Republicans following their crushing defeat in the US midterm elections, with American Vice President JD Vance openly arguing that the reckless American-Israeli war against Iran was the primary cause for the electoral defeat and the consequent loss of the House of Representatives and the Senate for the party of Trump, according to a report by Politico on November 4.
Specifically, US Vice President JD Vance openly maintains that the war with Iran cost the Republicans the midterm elections, thereby challenging the central line of the Trump administration.
Vance published an extensive post regarding the crushing defeat suffered by the Republicans yesterday (November 4) night, arguing that the problem was not the abstention of Republican voters.
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

On the contrary, their turnout was particularly high, yet many of those who had supported Trump and Vance in 2024 ended up voting for the Democrats.
Vance mentioned that his team had identified something unusual prior to the elections.
Although voter turnout figures were encouraging, one of his analysts had warned that several of them were so dissatisfied that they could switch party preference.
Hegseth facing dismissal, Trump turns him into Iphigenia
At the same time, Donald Trump and his top aides in the White House are reportedly preparing to place direct blame for the Republican defeat in the midterm elections on Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, as well as on military commanders who pushed for war with Iran, according to CNN and CBS News.
«Trump, who typically solicits the opinions of many people before forming a view, has asked allies how they assess Hegseth's recent performance», sources reported to CNN.

CBS News also reports that Trump considers that the election results would have been entirely different had the war with Iran not preceded them.
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine, and Commander of US Central Command (CENTCOM), General Brad Cooper, are also reportedly under scrutiny, as Trump seeks figures to whom he will assign responsibility for the Republican electoral defeat.
Iranian earthquake topples Trump: Senate Democrats promise to end the war
Democratic Leader in the US Senate, Chuck Schumer, promised to bring an end to the war in Iran, according to statements rebroadcast by CNN on November 4.
Schumer made this statement during remarks to journalists.
«We will end the war. Certain Republicans have aligned with us», he stated.
«The American people have no idea why the hell we are fighting in Iran», Schumer added.
It is recalled that on September 24, four Republicans, namely Collins, Paul, Thom Tillis, and Murkowski, voted alongside Democrats in favor of a resolution calling for the termination of the war or congressional approval.
The resolution failed to secure a majority in the Senate.
Reckless war against Tehran the primary cause of collapse
During his extensive post on November 4, the US Vice President outlined the four primary reasons for the «twin» defeat of Republicans in the midterm elections.
Subsequently, a pollster ascertained what was causing this discontent.
When former Trump voters were asked what could lead them to return to supporting him, four answers stood out:
1. Ending the war.
2. Reducing inflation and the cost of living.
3. Prioritizing America («America First»).
4. Changing the relationship of the US with Israel.
This is a particularly notable list of demands from voters who contributed to Trump's return to the White House just two years ago.
«Even Trump has recognized our failure in Iran»
Vance conceded that Republicans could have managed their messaging on the economy better, yet maintained that the war was the real cause of their defeat.
Indeed, he pointed out that Trump himself had recognized this fact.
Simultaneously, he dismissed proposals by Republicans advocating amnesty for immigrants as a solution, warning that anyone promoting this idea is lying.

The American Vice President also addressed a message to voters who had warned Republicans that such an outcome would occur: «You are right, you had warned us».
Vance now openly recognizes that many of Trump's own voters turned against the Republicans because of the war, inflation, and foreign policy.
Donald Trump Jr. reposted Vance's critical text - Awkward attempt to co-opt it
Almost instantly, Donald Trump Jr. reposted a short while ago the statements of JD Vance regarding the crushing defeat of Republicans in last night's elections, commenting:

«I completely agree with every word. 100%»
It is noted that in his earlier post, Vance mentioned:
«The reason we lost is the war. The President himself said so last night».
«At this point, if you still believe something different, I cannot help you!», concluded the son of the American President, during his awkward attempt to demonstrate that he embraces the Vice President's critique.
Trump walks back nuclear strike talk on Iran...
It is noted that earlier, Donald Trump himself dismissed the need to use nuclear weapons against Iran, claiming that American forces have already destroyed 90% of the country's military capabilities.
«I do not need them. We have already neutralized them by 90%. Therefore, I do not need them», Trump stated.

His remarks come a few days after Tucker Carlson claimed that the US may launch a nuclear strike against Iran in the coming days under pressure from Netanyahu, causing widespread concern over the possibility of an unprecedented escalation.
American refueling aircraft and B-2A Spirit airborne
Nevertheless, despite the public admissions by Republicans and people around Trump of defeat due to Iran, on November 4 Americans conducted a rehearsal of an airstrike against Mount Pickaxe in Iran and potentially other targets, as revealed on November 4 by Iranian sources.
Aerial refueling aircraft have taken off, as have B-2A Spirit stealth strategic bombers, and the operation is about to take place.
This may concern a preparation drill ahead of the impending airstrike or the attack itself could take place even tonight, November 4.
Activity in Iran, missile systems on the move
Concurrently, unusual artillery unit movements have been spotted operating with extreme activity over recent hours, being redirected inside Iran, at a time when Tehran has rejected a United States proposal for negotiations mediated by Qatar.
It is noted that Tehran insists on its own platform, which includes 7 conditions for a peace agreement.

Furthermore, Iran categorically denied reports regarding an impending agreement with the US, emphasizing that no progress has been made toward reaching an accord and that Tehran has made no concession regarding the nuclear issue.
Revelation: US strikes in Hormuz failed - Iran shot down American MQ-9A Reaper
The airstrikes by the US Navy and the US Air Force on Qeshm Island, aimed at destroying the anti-aircraft defense batteries of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force, were apparently unsuccessful, as the IRGC shot down another armed MQ-9A Reaper unmanned aerial vehicle this morning, November 4, operating under the command of the US Air Force or the Air National Guard, over the Strait of Hormuz.
BREAKING: U.S. Navy and Air Force airstrikes on Qeshm Island aimed at destroying the IRGC Aerospace Force’s air defence batteries were clearly unsuccessful, as the IRGC shot down another MQ-9A Reaper armed drone operated by the U.S. Air Force or Air National Guard over the Strait of Hormuz this morning. The IRGC released a video of the shootdown just a few minutes ago.
