The farmers are 100% right. The fundamental problem for farmers is not the existing subsidies, because something is obviously wrong with the pricing of agricultural products. We differentiate subsidies from compensation because compensation concerns natural disasters. A young farmer woman conveyed a reality via the internet that is simple, understandable, and certainly shocking. To buy a coffee that costs 3 euros, she has to sell 16 kgs of wheat. What's worse, a small bag of wheat in a supermarket costs 0.85 euros and concerns half a kilogram, so one kilogram costs 1.7 euros.
What is happening?
The following unprecedented thing is happening in Greece: the cheapest product is the agricultural product itself that is primarily produced. Let's take the example of wheat, today 1 kg of wheat is sold by the producer for 0.19 euros, a truly outrageously low price, and ends up on the supermarket shelf at 1.7 euros, which is almost 9 times more expensive.
The farmer essentially gets nothing, and here we must search for why this chaotic difference exists. From 0.19 euros to 1.7 euros in the case of one kilogram of wheat. This chaotic difference is not justified, which is extreme profiteering.
Some people-probably the middlemen-reap the profit as the wheat will end up for processing at the factory, be standardized, sold to a distribution company, and then end up on the supermarket shelf. From the factory that will receive the initial processing-we are not talking about wheat products like flour or other by-products-the next in line are the distribution companies that mediate, sometimes operating behind the supermarkets by adopting triangular transaction practices.
What is happening with oil?
In Mani, a pristine region concerning olive oil processing and with recognized quality olive oil-perhaps among the best in the world-a 17-liter container of olive oil costs 180 euros; others sell it for 160 euros. 180 euros for 17 liters equals 10.5 euros per liter, while one kilogram of beef costs 15 euros.
In Spain, which is also an olive-producing country, they sold 1 kg of oil to the US for the price of 35 euros per kilogram, so the 17-liter container, known to all Greeks, will cost 595 euros.
Instead of a conclusion
The Farmers Criminal Organization and the rotten New Democracy party together in the mire of fraud - The honest farmers got screwed
Farmers have set up blockades across Greece, there is tension on the roads, mobilizations, and confrontation with the police authorities, which most of the time intervene overtly.
What is the farmers' demand?
The farmers mostly put forward the following argument, bring back the stolen money, give the compensation and subsidies. However, let's be realistic. We have a rotten New Democracy (ND) and former ND ministers who are scammers who have been involved in the OPEKEPE scandal without any doubt, and we also have a part of the Greek farmers in Crete, Thessaly, and other places who set up the big scam in cooperation with ministers and MPs, stealing European funds; that is, we have a clear criminal organization as there is clearly economic fraud and financial gain. There is no doubt that ND is maintaining this rotten situation because most farmers supported ND.
The OPEKEPE case investigative committee is coming to reveal some bitter truths.
-
Key ministers of the Mitsotakis government, who are involved with OPEKEPE, are common fraudsters, rotten, corrupt, but they have immunity and provoke society. Whoever votes for them, and we refer to those involved in the OPEKEPE scandal, is either a scammer or just as corrupt as they are.
Now we know how Crete turned blue
-
Crete turned blue in the elections, the once deep green, and now we know how it turned blue. The big scam was set up with Frapedes and Hasapides, common fraudsters who deserve to be in jail, scum of society, thieves, base subjects thought that by stealing the European funds with the tolerance and full knowledge of the government, they would continue the party of fraud forever, until bankingnews came along and revealed the OPEKEPE scandal, followed by the European Public Prosecutor's Office to expose all this stench.
For the record, bankingnews (BN) has received a total of 36 extrajudicial notices, 9 lawsuits, and 2 criminal complaints due to revelations about the OPEKEPE scandal. We did not back down; this scandal is filth and stench.
-
During the OPEKEPE investigative committee, incredible revelations are coming to light. The case of the Ferrari and her partner is the tip of the iceberg. There is no doubt that these people are thieves and fraudsters, but they are not the only ones; here it is revealed how they laundered the illegal money. There were farmers who had won OPAP lottery tickets countless times, and this also confirms the existence of a clear criminal organization. There is a citizen who has won 6,000 times, yes, you read that right. There is a difference that the whole of Greece is full of criminal organizations of farmers and stockbreeders.
There is great corruption in society
-
Obviously, most farmers are not fraudsters, they are struggling workers, but a significant part of the farmers and especially the farmers' union leaders are part of a shameful criminal organization, and if you see who leads the local trade union organizations, what a coincidence, executives of ND and PASOK. There is great corruption in society; many say that the fish stinks from the head, but ultimately the body-society-also stinks from the scandals and corruption.
-
OPEKEPE and the Gargalakos system cannot continue to exist; they are clearly part of the problem, of the great scheme that is shaking all of Greece. OPEKEPE has gone bankrupt at all levels, a new organization is needed with new management and very strict mechanisms, and certainly many OPEKEPE executives must end up in jail; they are part of the criminal organization.
-
The farmers have risen up because they did not receive money now, and they are right, especially the stockbreeders who have been ruined due to diseases, but many were silent when they saw others stealing community funds and trying to get in on the scam themselves.
-
It is obvious that Greece, a purely agricultural economy, is in incredible decline, livestock is on paper, and Greek agricultural products are collapsing in price and being marginalized. Imported products are flooding the market, and the rotten ND as a government has no plan on how to revive the primary sector. Greece should not import even one product. They are deliberately killing the primary sector, they want us to be a dependent economy, puppets of interests; the farmers did not speak up on these issues.
By political criteria, Greece-not only Ukraine-is an incredibly corrupt, rotten country
-
The OPEKEPE scandal also proved by political criteria that Greece-not only Ukraine-is an incredibly corrupt, rotten country. We are ashamed of the fact that there are citizens who struggle and citizens who steal with the tolerance, cover-up, or cooperation of the state. This whole abscess must burst. There can be no social prosperity when the few fraudsters steal and the many simply look on lamenting how they were fooled and didn't steal too. The country no longer has a compass. The political and ideological guide of the fraud in the OPEKEPE scandal is clearly the government. The scandal was revealed, it will surely be covered up, but now we know, and we know a lot. Knowledge is power, and powerful is he who possesses it.
