Russian strikes devastate Ukrainian industrial sites as Moscow issues warning to Trump envoys
Fierce overnight assault by Russian forces sweeps across ports, industrial plants, and Ukrainian infrastructure.

Russian armed forces launched a large-scale overnight offensive, targeting critical military-industrial facilities and logistics hubs supporting Ukrainian troops.
High-precision ground-based munitions and long-range unmanned aerial vehicles were deployed to neutralize designated sites.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia detailed extensive strikes across several operational zones.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, strikes hit the Kametstal facility as well as regional metallurgical plants supporting military hardware manufacturing.
Concurrently, the Ukrainian mining and metallurgical enterprise ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih sustained damage, prompting the facility in Kryvyi Rih to partially suspend industrial operations.
In the Mykolaiv region, missiles hit a logistics center storing dual-use items, alongside the Nikolaevskaya electrical substation.
Across the Odesa region, a strike at the port of Chornomorsk destroyed a dry cargo vessel preparing to offload weapons and military equipment, along with an adjacent military storage depot.

Major strikes across the capital region

In the capital region, strikes hit the Svyatopetrovsky supply center, fuel storage and distribution facilities serving the Ukrainian military within the Hostomel airfield garrison in the Blystavytsya area, and a signal communications, radiological, and electronic reconnaissance hub in the Brovary district.

Panic on the front line as command post flattened in Kharkiv direction

Simultaneously, a major army corps command post of the Ukrainian forces was completely destroyed in the Lozova sector along the Kharkiv axis, resulting in heavy confirmed casualties among senior officer ranks.
Prior to the capture of the Nikanorovka area, units of the southern reconnaissance group of Russian forces launched coordinated artillery and drone barrages against Ukrainian defensive positions, securing control over the settlement.
In response to adversarial actions, the Russian military continues targeting command nodes, manufacturing facilities, and warehouses utilized jointly by Ukrainian units and NATO specialists, deploying long-range precision weaponry capable of striking targets across the territory.

Moscow issues warning to Washington: «New front-line balance must be accepted for any agreement»

The Russian side outlined its official position regarding the upcoming mission of American presidential envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Moscow and Kyiv over the weekend, who are carrying a peace proposal.
In public remarks, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov emphasized that any effort to end the conflict requires full recognition of operational realities on the battlefield.
He stressed that the core issue is whether American leadership intends to pursue a substantive settlement while taking into account shifting conditions at the front, which do not favor the Ukrainian side.
Concurrently, he expressed reservations regarding American policy consistency following the summit in Anchorage, Alaska, and the meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump on August 15, 2025, pointing to pressure exerted on Washington by factions opposed to a negotiated resolution.

Schedule of contacts and positions of the involved parties

The mission of the American envoys was confirmed by Donald Trump, who stated that a framework for reaching an agreement exists, while declining to specify whether it includes territorial concessions by Ukraine.
The American President attributed the conflict to personal antagonism between the leaders of the two countries.
Under the schedule, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff are expected to meet with Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Saturday and with Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on Sunday.
This marks the first time both envoys will visit the Ukrainian capital, having previously visited the Russian capital in January.

Truce proposal and ongoing combat operations

For his part, Volodymyr Zelensky proposed a mutual ceasefire and an end to aerial strikes for the duration of the diplomatic talks.
However, Russia has neither officially confirmed the visit nor agreed to the proposed truce, while combat operations proceed unabated, with a strike in the central-eastern Ukrainian city of Kamianske causing four deaths and five injuries.
