The date is locked and the countdown has already begun.
On September 15, 2026, in just 20 days from today, Ilias Kasidiaris is released without restrictive conditions, having served the entire sentence imposed on him to the very last day.
His case is unprecedented in modern judicial annals, being the only prisoner who, without having committed any disciplinary infraction, remained in prison until the very last day of serving his sentence.
The answers given by the competent judicial councils to justify the unlawful extension of his detention, such as making posts on the platform X with the help of third parties or giving an interview to BN tv during one of his furloughs, proved to all the Greek people that the prosecution he has endured for more than ten years is primarily political and in no way criminal.
A new patriotic party is coming that will be the surprise of the next elections
As Ilias Kasidiaris himself has stated, from the moment he is released he does not intend to sit idly by, but will immediately return to the country’s political arena, actively participating in a new political formation.
This new formation is set to be the surprise of the elections to be held in the spring of 2027.
Five key points lead to this conclusion with relative certainty...
1) A strong political current is about to emerge on the day of release:
The system’s obsession with keeping Ilias Kasidiaris unlawfully in prison (for posts on X and online interviews) has generated a very strong wave of solidarity toward him.
Hundreds of thousands of Greeks consider him the only modern Greek political prisoner and are patiently awaiting the moment of his release.
At the same time, they consider him the natural leader of the patriotic and nationalist sphere.
The moment everyone is waiting for is now closer than ever and is poised to act as a catalyst for developments that will bring major realignments to existing political balances.
Thousands of voters who have temporarily moved to newly formed or existing political groups will soon return en masse to their natural political home.
2) Support from Russia and Elon Musk: Amid this climate, recent support from Elon Musk arrived, causing a true earthquake across the entire domestic political spectrum.
The most powerful financial and business figure globally described the situation prevailing in Greek justice as unhealthy upon learning that Ilias Kasidiaris is being held in prison beyond the period provided by law, on the sole pretext that he maintains an active profile on the platform X.
According to exclusive information, beyond Elon Musk, interest in the emergence of a new party with the participation of Ilias Kasidiaris exists from the side of Russia as well.
3) Parliamentary representation from day one: The new party in which Ilias Kasidiaris will participate will not wait for the elections next spring to enter the Hellenic Parliament, as it will possess parliamentary representation from the very first day of its appearance.
Mark these words.
Three sitting members of parliament have already agreed to represent the party in parliament, while others have expressed interest in joining the new endeavor.
4) Reports by powerful international organizations put an end to the Makis Voridis amendments: While the notorious Makis Voridis amendments (unconstitutional and unlawful) blocked past attempts by Ilias Kasidiaris to enter the Hellenic Parliament himself, much has changed since then.
A report by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), an international organization comprising 57 countries including Russia and the United States, states regarding the Makis Voridis amendments and the danger they pose to democracy in the country: «The broad wording of the amendments could create a risk of their arbitrary application in future elections. Furthermore, these amendments were adopted in the pre-election period, with the support of only two parliamentary parties, and therefore were not preceded by meaningful public consultation nor was broad political consensus achieved. The Vice President of the Supreme Court criticized this amendment as politically motivated and resigned».
These and similar reports, which internationally discredit the country, will soon consign the Makis Voridis amendments to their natural home: the wastebasket.
5) Penetration among youth and the undecided vote: The momentum of Ilias Kasidiaris is not yet registered in official polls; however, according to polling sources, it is already hovering around 5% with upward trends.
His penetration is very high among young voters and an anti-establishment public whose momentum is unpredictable and difficult to gauge.
«His participation in a new party could genuinely be the surprise of the upcoming elections», a source with extensive experience in polling told BN.
