Arrests and investigations over alleged million-euro NATO fraud - Corruption at all-time high

According to Eurojust, the damage to NATO member-states is estimated at approximately one million euros

A case of international dimensions and serious allegations is under the microscope of European authorities, as five individuals were arrested in Norway and searches were carried out at businesses and residences in Germany and Romania. At the center of the investigation is a company and collaborating subcontractors who allegedly submitted forged or misleading invoices for ship and crew support services during port calls in northwestern Europe. According to Eurojust, the damage to NATO member-states is estimated at approximately one million euros, though the overall scope of the case has not yet been fully determined. At the same time, allegations are being investigated that an intermediary was used for the bribery of public officials to secure favorable treatment from the NATO Support and Procurement Agency. The identity of the company and those involved has not been publicly released.
